The Night Shift
I recently was promoted at the place of my employment. I am now a manager of receiving. It is definitely a good thing but it comes with a price. The moved me from the weekend shift that I loved to the weekday night shift. I now work 4 nights versus the 3 days I had been working. Being on nights has really thrown me off on my school work. I don't get much sleep through the week now. When the weekend comes I have to find time for sleep and to watch my energetic 11 month old. On top of all this, I do not get to spend time with my wife anymore because she works the weekend shift. For most couples I know, this would not be a problem, but I actually like being around my wife. It'll all work out though. The extra money I am making will be great for vacations.

ReplyDeleteI also work in receiving. I can appreciate the difference in shift work with you and your wife. My husbaqnd and I went through a similar situation. We found it to allow for more communication as new experiences took place and it also helped us to appreciate the time we did have together even more.Congratulations on your promotion and may you have continued success in your endeavors.
